Tranart is trio of artists: Deeter Hastenteufel from Flesherton, Sybille Groene from Krefeld, Germany and Bernadette Schroeger from Berlin. The trio has created an installation in the main gallery that examines ideas of material transformation through the use of waste materials, corrosion and other natural processes.

As part of their project, Tranart members Hastenteufel and Groene held a workshop for local children and teens. The resulting exhibition is on display in the Community Gallery.

No prior knowledge of science is needed to understand these talks by Dr. David Holah. Professor Emeritus, Faculty of Chemistry at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Dr. Holah held numerous teaching and research positions at research facilities, government agencies and universities in the US, UK and Canada.

Opening Saturday, November 5, 2011, at 2 p.m. The Lost Regiments of Grey County is a Grey Roots original exhibit examining the military history of Grey County, up until 1919. The opening will be held outside, weather permitting. The Owen Sound Garrison of the Grey and Simcoe Forresters will be on parade with their pipe band and WWI re-enactors will be on hand to show military artefacts to visitors. This exhibit will remain open until May 9, 2012.

Robert Pilon has had a varied and exciting career full of opportunities that have taken him around the world. He was honoured to have played the signature roles of Jean Valjean in Les Miserables and The Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera both in the Toronto productions and across Canada. Robert followed that with the release of 2 CD’s, Given the chance and A Christmas Night, which has become a seasonal favourite. Robert’s television appearances have crossed several decades but a true highlight was starring in his award winning special titled A Canadian in New York.
