Tourism held Make the Media Work for You with Liz Fleming at the Marsh Street Centre, March 14, 2017.
Liz, who is a writer, showcased some of her press trips, spoke to the needs of writers and demonstrated what constitutes a positive media tour/trip. She provided hands-on demonstrations, she had the 19 in attendance selling a product, providing pitches to the other members of the group and everyone had a great time.
The presentation provided the following insights, which experiences lead to the best coverage, how to make the most of a very short visit, how to keep your destination front-of-mind for journalists, and perhaps most importantly, how individual tour operators, hoteliers and attractions in each of the three northern regions can work together to create a cohesive voice when talking to the media – and to the traveling public.
