Heritage Sites
Grey County's rich past manifests itself in the diverse and eye-catching architecture found throughout the region. Practical buildings, such as the Welbeck Sawmill and the Neustadt Breweries demonstrate form and function, while at the same time, presenting interesting and creative structures. Homes reflect the wide cultural heritage of the County's early residents, evidencing strong Scottish, English and Germanic features in areas of the County. Christ Church Anglican
34 Boucher Street, Meaford
The 1862 church exhibits McCausland Glass. Stained glass fragments collected from WWII church and cathedral ruins in Europe have been used to create memorial stained glass windows. Many believe these to be the oldest in North America.

Historic Leith Church
Grey Road 15, Leith
Constructed in 1865, this was Tom Thomson's church home for the first 20 years of his life. It is also the burial ground of this well-known Canadian artist. www.leithchurch.ca
Meaford Hall
Nelson Street East, Meaford
Built in 1908, the Hall remains one of the most distinguished historical public landmarks in Meaford. The upper floor houses an original opera house, now home to the Georgian Theatre Festival.
Neustadt Springs Brewery
456 Jacob Street, Neustadt
Built in 1859, the Brewery utilizes pure natural spring water. The spring still flows in caverns below. Tours conducted by appointment. Call (519) 799-5790.

The Craigleith Heritage Depot
Highway 26 and County Road 19, Craigleith
The Depot's architecture is a reflection of the year 1878. Once an old Canadian National Railway station, it will be home to a new cultural centre.
Welbeck Shingle & Sawmill
Welbeck Road, near Durham
This post and beam water powered Shingle Mill produces Ontario white cedar shingles. Tours are conducted for visitors and school groups. For reserving a tour call (519) 369-2144.
