Photography Tips
-
To take the best shots of Grey County's waterfalls or gardens, wait for an overcast day.
-
To capture the "smooth and silky look" in waterfall photography, place your camera in a tripod, and then set your shutter speed to 1 second or slower.
-
To add visual impact, simplify your photos. Identify the centre of interest, then exclude anything that doesn't contribute.
-
Bring out textures by using strong sidelight. (Early morning or at sundown)
-
Utilize shadow areas to add depth to your photos. Limit the shadows to less than 20% of the image space and base your exposure settings on the highlights.
-
Taking photographs after it rains increases colour saturation.
