On one of his many walking trips well known naturalist, author, environmental philosopher and early advocate of preservation of wilderness John Muir, travelled much of the present-day Bruce Trail, and for a few years lived in the Meaford area. The dedicated American naturalist played a significant role in the development of the United States National Parks Service. Plaque is located at the Epping Lookout, off of Grey Road 13 between Meaford and Kimberley.
