Santa Claus is comin' to town...or at least a town near you in Grey County! The holiday seasons brings us many parades and celebrations for the little ones to visit the man in red, and share their Christmas wish lists.
Although this waterfall is on private property, there is a viewing platform where Walter's Creek plunges 14 metres in the heart of the village. Named for the pioneer John Walter and his family, the picturesque settlement grew around its waterpower, which continues to provide energy for a gristmill. The location is now home to the spectacular accommodation The Falls Inn. Driving Directions: Follow County Road 18 east to County Road 29 south, through the hamlet of Bognor where it heads east to Walter's Falls. The falls are found at the end of Front Street. *Please respect the landowner & management's wishes surrounding pets, which are not permitted on the property, including the waterfall & Bruce Trail access.
*Please note that this waterfall is located on private property, and although the owners welcome you to come and view the falls, please do so with respect. As The Falls Inn hosts events on their grounds, dogs are not permitted and access to the falls may be limited at times especially on week-ends.
This spectacular lookout, just west of Walters Falls on the 2nd Concession, has a view facing north over Georgian Bay over a valley below of farmers fields, marsh and rolling hills.
This is a unique area. In a short time period you can be standing on the brow of the Niagara Escarpment and looking down on the backs of turkey vultures as they soar on air currents above the marsh.
