Picnics in the Park

Pack your own, or grab some takeout to enjoy a picnic in the park. Heritage Square is the jewel of downtown Hanover. The Square provides a number of space options, and is home to the Labyrinth of Distinction. Hanover Park gives you access to green space adjacent to the Saugeen River, a picnic pavilion and several play structures

Take a Selfie with one of our Murals

While visiting Heritage Square, you’ll also enjoy a view of Hanover’s murals, paying homage to our past and present, created by local artists. Hanover’s Settlers Mural, by artist Cliff Smith, features Hanover’s founder, Abraham Buck and historical imagery of the Hanover Dam & Old Post Office. The large 20 x 80 ft mural facing Heritage Square was created by renowned artist, Gary McLaughlin, and illustrates fun depictions of historic events, present amenities and hopes for the future.

Self-Guided Walking Tours

Take a self-guided walking tour and take in the natural beauty depicted on the street banners, created by Saugeen Artist Guild members. Windows in Time posters feature historical photos of business locations and list the businesses that existed from the building’s inception. Look for our Building Recognition Signs that provide awareness about our building’s history that date back a minimum of 75 years.

There’s nothing better then watching a movie in the great outdoors, under the stars in the comfort of your own car. Experience the Hanover Drive-In, one of Ontario’s last remaining Drive-In Theatres.
