Farmers' markets across Grey are preparing to open for the 2018 season. With the exception of Owen Sound (which is open year-round) most markets will open in time for the Victoria Day weekend or shortly after, just in time for the first local harvests.
Every summer, the Grey Roots Museum and Archives opens the Moreston Heritage Village, a place where dozens of knowledgeable interpreters walk you through daily life in Grey County from the time of the first people to the 1930's. Visit a log home, a farmstead, country church, blacksmith shop and see steam engines at work.
Fall fairs are well underway in Grey County. Most still celebrate the season the way it has been done for well over a century in rural Ontario, with livestock and trained animal shows; bake-offs; fruit, vegetable, flower and preserve contests; parades; quilt and art shows; farm equipment displays; BBQ dinners and live entertainment.
