Farmers' markets across Grey are preparing to open for the 2018 season. With the exception of Owen Sound (which is open year-round) most markets will open in time for the Victoria Day weekend or shortly after, just in time for the first local harvests.
From fresh strawberries and raspberries to fresh apples, the U-Pick season lasts from spring until fall in Grey County. Whether you’re preparing to make jam or packing away the fruits of the autumn harvest for the long winter, there’s a U-Pick here the whole family will enjoy.
Welcome to Ontario's Apple Country - a special place where the moderating effects of Georgian Bay and the Niagara Escarpment create perfect conditions for growing amazing apples - and baking perfect apple pies!
In rural communities, fall provides the perfect opportunity to celebrate the growing season. Work winds down as the harvest is brought in. Appetites quicken as the nights get cooler and longer.
