Fall fairs are ingrained in Grey County's history. Most still celebrate the season the way it has been done for well over a century in rural Ontario, with livestock and trained animal shows; bake-offs; fruit, vegetable, flower and preserve contests; parades; quilt and art shows; farm equipment displays; BBQ dinners and live entertainment.
Home grown, farm fresh and hand made exhibits, events and activities can be seen at this year's fair. The gates open Friday at 6PM and food vendors will be onsite. Enjoy the music of Thirsty Boys and the rising country star, Manny Blu (www.mannyblumusic.com) from the beer tent. Watch the opeing ceremony, view the exhibits, and kid zone activities will entertain the younger crowd. Saturday, there’s something for every age. Watch the dog agility show, draft horses, and wood carving; participate in home craft demonstrations and the excavator challenge; as well as taste the local ciders. Petting zoo, kid zone, rock climbing wall, laser tag, bouncy castles and much more are sure to entertain our fair patrons this year. End your fun day with the delicious roast beef dinner.
The fair is held at the Beaver Valley Community Center in Thornbury. For more information go to www.beavervalleyfallfair.ca.
