The County has officially proclaimed twenty-twenty as the year to gather. To gather a basket full of local produce, meats, and spirits from a local farm store or market. To gather your friends and family around a big table (or kitchen island), to celebrate each other and the local bounty before you. To gather around a restaurant table and appreciate the love the chefs bring to your plate. It’s the year of you, and your connection to this place through the food you eat and the people you spend time with.
Join Jill Price for an exploratory day of unmaking. After a short powerpoint presentation on Undoing as Activism, join Price in considering your roles as makers and consumers in times of ecological crisis. Encouraging observation, reflection and imagination, participants will engage in a series of unmaking exercises that will help them come more in relation to objects, the land and humans. Participants are encouraged to bring one or two objects they wish to take apart, any tools that might help them in the dismantling of those objects, a pair of protective gloves and a camera or a cell phone.
