Farmers' markets across Grey are preparing to open for the 2019 season. With the exception of Owen Sound (which is open year-round) most markets will open in time for the Victoria Day weekend or shortly after, just in time for the first local harvests.
All proceeds from the festival will go to support the Village of Hope and Vimbainesu Children’s Home in Zimbabwe. The Festival will be held on the property of Hope Community Church on 18th Avenue. Pancakes, sausages and maple syrup meals will be served from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Families can come out for brunch, lunch or an early supper and to enjoy activities for the whole family. For the cost of $10.00/adult (Children 6-12 are $6.00 and children under 5 are free), families can not only enjoy a meal but also horse drawn wagon rides, a walk with an alpaca, live entertainment, a maple syrup demonstration, face painting, an Easter egg hunt, log sawing, skipping rope making, crafts, other demonstrations and much, much more. There will be something for every member of the family. All activities are included in the cost of admission. Also, there will be free Ashanti coffee with a bake sale and fresh maple syrup available for purchase.
