The general store was once the original big box retailer; only it came complete with gossip and a place to tie up your horse. In Grey County, the general store culture is still thriving today. They have reinvented themselves to be everything a modern retailer cannot be, which makes them so much fun, and delicious.
On September 29, come to Moreston Heritage Village at Grey Roots to take part in the Pratie Oaten Irish Festival! The village will be full of delicious food, costumed interpreters, live music and entertainment.
Enjoy traditional Irish music from Jim, Ann and Dan McGee, Scatter the Cats, Anne Lederman and Guest, Fiddlefern Country Dancers and Glowan. Check out fanning mill and sawmill demonstrations, delicious potato treats, and the 4H Club Potato Auction! Samples of Pratie Oaten will be available throughout the day in the Log Cabin.
Don't miss this fun tribute to the early Irish settlers in Grey County!
Grey Roots admission rates apply. Free for Grey Roots Members only - reciprocal memberships not accepted on special event days.
