HANOVER, ON – October 1st is National Seniors Day! To celebrate, The Town of Hanover’s Age-Friendly Committee is hosting a free information sharing event featuring agencies and organizations who provide volunteer opportunities or valuable services for older adults living in our region.
Join us as we dive into The Roxy Theatre’s historic past! Step back in time with the last film screened at The Roxy, Coal Miner’s Daughter. Every fall the artists of the Autumn Leaves Studio Tour invite the public into their homes and studios. In 2019 from Friday October 4 to Sunday October 6th, explore the diversity of our seasoned artists and the artworks of a number of first time studios. The range of mediums include; glass, watercolours, pottery and ceramics, acrylics and oils, fiber art, wood, and metal.
Scarecrows' Book Invasion is the theme of the 2019 Meaford Scarecrow Invasion and Family Festival. This year’s parade is Friday, October 4th, starting at 6 p.m. on Sykes Street followed by a family festival at the Rotary Harbour Pavilion …free activities for the whole family, apple pie contest awards and auction, entertainment, and more. Scarecrows start to invade Meaford in mid September and stay until mid October.

The evening is centered on the beginner to teach you how to use your camera features as well as photography basics, such as composition and the exposure triangle.

Autism Ontario and Owen Sound Fitness & Training are teaming up again to create an inclusive fitness class for children on the autism spectrum. This class will be filled with fun and creative full body movements such as bear walks, crab walks, frog jumps and more. Your trainer Kat designed the class to have some structure with a warm up, and then various exercises to keep everyone engaged.
