Spring ephemerals – plants that bloom briefly in spring, before the trees leaf out, are one of southern Ontario’s loveliest aspects. The mature hardwood forest at the Kinghurst Nature Re- serve is carpeted with a rich variety of these flowers in May and early June. Come join us and learn their names and some of their interesting characteristics. Then you will be able to find some of them in whatever patch of woodland you happen to hike through in spring.

In its 23rd year, local well established artists open their studios to the public and will be there to answer questions about their work, what inspires them and in some cases, demonstrate their craft. One of the signature events sponsored by BMFA. Our mission is to promote, showcase and award exceptional artists and artisans and we award significant amounts in prize money each year. This year we have more than 200 submissions! Our jurors are different every year and come from outside our immediate area. This year we welcome Sue Miller, Ron DeBoer and Juliet Jancso.
