Fall fairs are ingrained in Grey County's history. Most still celebrate the season the way it has been done for well over a century in rural Ontario, with livestock and trained animal shows; bake-offs; fruit, vegetable, flower and preserve contests; parades; quilt and art shows; farm equipment displays; BBQ dinners and live entertainment.
Hundreds of craftspeople producing whimsical, useful and beautiful things of all kinds make their homes in Grey County. Many open their home studios to visitors for special events and most sell year-round at local shops and galleries. Don't miss fall studio tours which take place at the height of fall colours.
Farmers' markets across Grey are up and running for the 2019 season. With the exception of Owen Sound (which is open year-round) most market are open from Victoria Day weekend or shortly after, just in time for the first local harvests, until Thanksgiving weekend.
