New in the town of Clarksburg (established 2022), Hugo’s Ice Cream should definitely be on your summer bucket list. Serving artisan style ice cream with unique flavours like Chocolate Dipped Strawberry and Wild Blueberry Lavender, you can’t help but get excited to try something new! They are open Wednesday – Sunday from 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Eowyn's - The Littlest Ice Cream Shop
Eowyn's serves a variety of small batch, homemade ice cream flavours and countless other cool treats including bubble tea, iced coffee, smoothies, and baked goods. They opened their original location in October 2022 and have already expanded to a larger location in downtown Durham. They're open Tuesday through Saturday - check their hours ahead of time on Facebook or Instagram.
PomPom
The original ice cream hut in Thornbury has become a staple for many when planning their trip to Grey County. Pompom recently opened a sister shop in the neighboring town of Meaford. Serving a mix of dairy-based ice cream from the London Ice Cream Company, and made-in-house plant-based ice cream, there's sure to be something for everyone in your crew. Flavours rotate based on what’s in season, so be sure to check their social media channels ahead of time if you’re craving something specific. PomPom's ice cream is also available at select local retailers, in wholesale, or in the form of a custom ice cream cake!
Big Bay General Store
Big Bay General Store needs no introduction. Hidden away at the top of the Georgian Bluffs, it’s just a few steps away from the shoreline known as the Stone Skipping Capital of Canada. While they are no longer operating as a general store, you can still grab a cone from their takeout window. Their entirely homemade ice cream flavours rotate depending on what’s in season and what’s in high demand, such as Pumpkin Pie, Ginger Press and Salted Caramel Rolo.
Sunday's Ice Cream Parlour
Located in the heart of Owen Sound’s River District, Sunday’s Ice Cream Parlour is tucked in beside the Farmers’ Market along the Sydenham River. They proudly serve Kawartha Dairy and PomPom ice cream with a huge variety of flavours including plant-based options. Sunday’s offers a mobile service on their super cool Ice Cream Bike, plus they make custom ice cream cakes! They're open 7 days a week from 12 p.m. - 8 p.m. You can also find Sunday's Ice Cream at The Launch, located beside the West Side Boat Launch on 1st Avenue West in Owen Sound. The Launch also offers weekly food specials, a bar menu and kayak rentals at this location.
Fully Loaded
If you’re in Hanover this summer, you can’t miss this brightly decorated take out window located in the Home Hardware parking lot. Fully Loaded has scoop ice cream with all the toppings you can imagine, donut sandwiches made with Schultz’s donuts, and several other fun creations. They’re open for ice cream Tuesday through Saturday from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. They also have a small lunch menu available starting at 11:00 a.m. on weekdays only.
Rocklyn Inn Ice Cream & Snack Shop
Offering over 40 flavours of Chapman's ice cream, their scoops are some of the biggest we've ever seen! They also have frozen yogurt, sorbet, and optoin for sugar free and lactose free. This sweet shop is attached to the beautiful Rocklyn Inn Bed & Breakfast.
