This rocky terrain trail winds its way through hardwood forest and conifer plantations near the Niagara Escarpment with single track and wide forest access road. Visitors will see frequent outcrops of bedrock, and a diversity of ferns and wildflowers. The Bruce Trail runs through this area and is off-limits to cyclists.
I am lucky enough to work in Thornbury, but rarely have the time to enjoy everything it has to offer; for a town with such a small footprint, it sure has a lot going on! So, I sweatered up and stepped out to check out some new instant favourites on the other side of Bruce Street.
October tends to draw locals out for fall tours and local adventures and this time around, I convinced my mom to hop in and join me for a day in Southgate, the southeast corner of Grey County, where it all begins.
When it comes to a day spent behind the bars of my motorcycle, Ontario's Grey County with its curvy roads,
rolling landscape, and water edge cruising is often top of the list.
