Fall Fairs, the Heart of Rural Life

Published Date:

It's fall fair season in Grey County. You can celebrate the harvest season in communities big and small almost every weekend starting at the end of August.

Most fall fairs still celebrate the season the way it has been done for well over a century in rural Ontario, with livestock and trained animal shows; bake-offs; fruit, vegetable, flower and preserve contests; parades; quilt and art shows; farm equipment displays; BBQ dinners and live entertainment.

However, as every community has unique character, each fair is different as well. Some offer midways, bike rodeos, demolition derbies, tractor pulls, video dances, and more. Click the links below for more information.
