Tobogganing: A Truly Canadian Experience

Published Date:

There is nothing more Canadian than gathering with friends and family, getting bundled up in your snowsuit & toque and heading to the local tobogganing hill after a fresh snowfall.

When I was a kid, my best friend's dad used to drag the bucket of his tractor down a huge hill on their Grey County farm and it provided endless hours of Krazy Karpet fun!   These days things are a little different and we encourage everyone to toboggan safely and with caution.  Everyone has their favourite tobogganing hill whether it be in your backyard or at the local park.  Here are a few suggestions that we hear are tried and true sledding hot spots:

Harrison Park in Owen Sound

Indian Falls Park north of Owen Sound (Just off the parking lot, beside the ball diamonds)

If you have a hill that your family loves to zip down, please email us and let us know! tourism@visitgrey.ca.

In addition to good ole' fashioned tobogganing, is the Hike N' Tube at Blue Mountain Resort.  (Suitable for riders as young as 3 years of age.)
