One of Grey County's most historically significant rivers offers a great paddle from Harrison Park in Owen Sound to the East Boat Launch in the Bay. Also one of the most picturesque rivers with views of marshland, historical homes, the Niagara Escarpment, wildlife and many species of birds. Don't miss the bird sanctuary at Harrison Park and some of downtown Owen Sound's great attractions.
Grey Sauble Conservation Authority and Saugeen Conservation Authority own and manage large areas comprised of important wetland complexes, managed forests and recreation parks throughout Grey & Bruce. Conservation Areas provide a variety of hiking, walking, mountain biking, and nature interpretation activities. Here are a few of our favourite trails.
The Bruce Trail is Canada’s oldest and longest footpath, stretching from Queenston in the Niagara Region to Tobermory at the tip of the Bruce Peninsula, following the magnificent Niagara Escarpment.
Lake Eugenia is Grey County's largest inland lake and provides excellent paddling. There are canoe, kayak & motorboat rentals available at Cedars of Lake Eugenia, and canoe rentals are included for guests renting cottages there. There is some great fishing within the lake!
