Santa Claus is comin' to town...or at least a town near you in Grey County! The holiday seasons brings us many parades and celebrations for the little ones to visit the man in red, and share their Christmas wish lists.
With well-maintained, quiet roads and amazing scenery, Grey County is truly a cycling destination. Home to the annual Centurion cycling race, the region has become a training ground for racers and recreational cyclists alike. Read our Road Cycling 101 and order your cycling brochure to get started. Also, be sure to check Road Construction.
Distance: 85 km - Advanced
Surface:Paved (some paved shoulder)
This ourt displays the contrast between the west and east shores of Owen Sound, since many of the roads are not paved and because of the Land Force Training Centre you cannot travel around the full peninsula.
Take your bicycle and enjoy a relaxing and scenic ride to the top of Blue Mountain and the Niagara Escarpment on the seasonal gondola. Once up top enjoy the spectacular views across Georgian Bay. The remainder of the route is reminiscent of a roller coaster, cruising downhill to fertile agricultural lands, passing mature apple and fruit orchards along the way.
