Lake Eugenia in fall

Lake Eugenia is Grey County's largest inland lake and provides excellent paddling. There are canoe, kayak & motorboat rentals available at Cedars of Lake Eugenia, and canoe rentals are included for guests renting cottages there. There is some great fishing within the lake!

The Saugeen River canoe route begins in the Town of Hanover and heads west to Lake Huron. Though it flows through agricultural areas, these are only visible occasionally through the forests, which line the bank of the river.

The Beaver River, navigable from Kimberley to Heathcote is a popular paddling route. Named for the many Beaver found along its 40 kilometres, this river was used as a transportation route during the 19th century.
Fall paddler on Sydenham River

One of Grey County's most historically significant rivers offers a great paddle from Harrison Park in Owen Sound to the East Boat Launch.  Also one of the most picturesque rivers with views of marshland, historical homes, the Niagara Escarpment, wildlife and birds.

Offering spectacular views of Georgian Bay, Loree Forest offers good trails for the intermediate to novice rider. Smooth, fast singletrack runs through mature forest along the Escarpment. For a more challenging trail head down Camperdown Road trail. Just don’t expect to be able to ride back up again! It’s a big climb.

Cyclist on trail

This is an extensive natural area where the forest includes stands of sugar maple, pine, spruce, and cedar. Wetland communities add to the diversity, and Black Lake offers fishing for bass. Gravel-based loop trails with some moderately steep hills. Trail runs along the north edge of the property, with cycling and hiking trails in the interior.

Upland hardwood forest and conifer plantations cover rugged terrain and provides many scenic views of the surrounding landscape. Wide trails on rolling terrain with some sandy areas. Due to recent ATV activity these trails have become somewhat eroded and much underlying coarse rock has been turned up resulting in difficult sections.

This busy trail system caters to a variety of users including hikers and equestrians. Moderately technical singletrack through rolling mixed forest with some sandy areas and some good technical descents.

Looping trails featuring both single track and wide track trails. The trail tread is mainly sand and grass with some rocky sections and drains very quickly. The trails traverse moderate to steep rolling hills among hardwood and pine plantation forests and are ideal for an afternoon of riding.

Balaclava route

This ourt displays the contrast between the west and east shores of Owen Sound, since many of the roads are not paved and because of the Land Force Training Centre you cannot travel around the full peninsula.

Enjoy the views of Geogian Bay as you ride the Blue Mountain Gondola up the Niagara Escarpment. The rest of the route is like a roller coaster, cruising downhill past agricultural lands, passing orchards along the way.

Nestled atop of Beaver Valley and the Niagara Escarpment, enjoy a quiet and scenic circuit around cottage country and Eugenia Lake.

Starting from one of several park and ride locations, either in the town centre or closer to the trailhead, follow the east bay shoreline out from Owen Sound. Enjoy waterviews across the inlet, once an important commercial shipping port for the region, now a hub for recreational boaters.

Never far from the water and spectacular bay views this pleasant ride showcases the vast expanse and beauty of Georgian Bay. Starting from the busy harbourfront area and town centre of Meaford, follow quiet lakeshore roads, passing parks and beaches with waterfront homes and cottages near the shoreline.
